This October, L’OCCITANE is introducing a colorful Limited-Edition Shea Butter Collection called Shea Flowers of Love. This collection adds a touch of cheer to the fall and winter season by combining three unique scents (Rose Tenderness, Subtle Violet and Passionate Jasmine) with their signature ingredient, Shea Butter.
I’ve been a fan of shea butter for years and I use it for my skin and hair daily so I’m pretty excited to try this new collection. For those not familiar with shea butter, it’s known as an incredible moisturizer with powerful skin healing properties. It comes from the nut of the African shea tree and has been dubbed the “superfood for the skin.” It’s definitely one of my favorite winter beauty essentials!
Shea butter skin benefits
There are several uses for shea buttter but it’s well-known for improving several skin conditions such as acne, stretchmarks, dryness, wrinkles, sun burns, rashes, scars, psoriasis, and ezcema.
I like to use shea butter on the face especially during the fall and winter seasons to hydrate and soothe my dry skin. With its high content of vitamins (i.e Vitamin E) it has the ability to rejuvenate the skin and increase circulation.
With fall’s arrival, you’ll need a great moisturizer for the hands, body, and lips.
L’Occitane’s limited-edition shea butter collection includes:
- Travel-Size Hand Cream ($12): A cream made with 20% Shea Butter to help nourish and protect hands.
- Ultra Rich Body Cream ($22): The deliciously smooth, rich balm is made with 25% Shea Butter to soften the driest of skin.
- The Sweetest Kiss Lip Balm ($12): Completely organic and made with 10% Shea Butter for smooth and supple lips.
Also included in the limited-edition collection is a “dressed up” version of L’OCCITANE’s classic Shea Butter Hand Cream- The Greatest Love of All Hand Cream($28) as well as The Strongest Commitment Solidarity Soap in Rose Tenderness ($3). All the proceeds support the visually impaired in developing countries with the support of the L’OCCITANE Foundation.
Shea Butter For Acne
I also like to use it for my acne. I get them them from time to time, most often during “that time of the month.” The best way to use shea butter for your acne is to wash your face with a facial cleanser containing salicylic acid and then apply a thin layer of shea butter.
Shea Butter for Stretch marks
Shea butter is also great for reducing and preventing stretch marks. Yes, I have them (like most people) and after a few years of using shea butter, I’ve noticed a significant difference. They’re literally fading away and blending into the surrounding the skin color making them less noticeable.
Shea Butter For Hair
Is shea butter good for hair? You bet! I like to mix my shea butter with jojoba or almond oil and apply a small amount on my scalp to relieve dryness. It’s also great for reducing hair breakage and hair frizz, and protecting hair from heat damage.
If you have any of the skin ailments I mentioned above, you should definitely give shea butter a try. For a more potent formula, you should find 100% organic, unrefined shea butter. I recommend L’Occitane 100% pure shea butter because I use it for my face, stretchmarks, and hair and it’s fantastic!
So now you know the different ways on how to use shea butter and why it’s a great moisturizer. Look out for the limited-edition collection at usa.loccitane.com starting October 1st. This limited-edition collection would also make a great last-minute holiday beauty gift idea!
