Oppo and Vivo have made their entrance into the foldable segment, and now it seems that OnePlus will be the next brand under the BBK group to join. Back in January, the first shreds of evidence emerged when the company trademarks for OnePlus V Fold and V Flip have been spotted by Stufflistings. Now, the Chinese brand has confirmed the launch of the two foldable devices. The teaser appeared during today’s big event that unleashed the OnePlus 11, 11R, and a set of other products for global markets. The teaser confirms the launch forecast for these new foldables.
OnePlus V Fold and V Flip will come in Q3 2023
The first teaser came in August 2022, when OnePlus CEO Pete Lau revealed the image of a hinge mechanism. Now, the brand has confirmed the launch of fold and flip devices. The teaser image confirms the launch of the new foldable in the third quarter of 2023. That means sometime between July and September 2023. Samsung killed the Galaxy Note series to focus on its foldable, and apparently, OnePlus did the same with the OnePlus Pro series. It reduced the number of flagships and will focus its resources on the launch of a new foldable.
Gizchina News of the week
According to rumors, the OnePlus V Fold and V Flip will be based on the Oppo Find N2 and N2 Flip. We recommend taking these rumors with a pinch of salt. After all, by Q3 2023 these two foldable will be already obsolete. Moreover, the Oppo Find N2 Flip will make its global debut later this month. So, what is the point of launching the same device two times? Of course, the term “based” doesn’t mean “equal”. Perhaps, we’ll see references here and there, but the phones will still be different in their form.

Considering the timing of the release, we expect the OnePlus V Fold and V Flip to be 2023 flagships. Unlike the recently-released foldable, we expect the two devices to bring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Or perhaps, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 will probably be out by their release. It may be too earlier to set things in stone, but everything is open to speculation. OnePlus isn’t the quieter brand when it comes to marketing for upcoming products. Therefore, we expect a lot of teasers to come in the upcoming months.
