Vivo introduced its Vivo S16 series back in December last year. As usual, we expect these smartphones to hit India and key markets across the globe, but they will get a rebrand treatment and will become part of the V-series. We expect the new smartphones to be launched under the Vivo V27 series. Today, the Vivo V27 5G was spotted on the Geekbench website. The new leak confirms some of its specifications and also hints at the imminent release.
Vivo V27 5G may not be a 1:1 Vivo S16 copy
The Vivo V27 5G passed through Geekbench with the model number V2246. The smartphone runs Android 13 and the global variant will likely have Funtouch OS 13 running atop. The listing confirms 845 points in the single-core tests and 2,217 points in the multi-core department. Unfortunately, the chipset is not listed, but the GPU reveals it’s a MediaTek SoC. It runs with the Mali-G610 MC4 GPU and we assume it’s one of MediaTek’s mid-range chipsets. The vanilla is not exactly based on the Vivo S16. This one runs with the Snapdragon 870 SoC. So the phone is more than just a rebranding, or perhaps, considering the score and GPU, it’s less. The listing also confirms a variant with 12 GB of RAM.
As per recent rumors, the Vivo V27 will sell in 4G and 5G versions. The Vivo V27 4G is also something new as the Vivo S16 series does not have a 4G unit. It has a Vivo S16e, which may launch as Vivo V27e 5G at some point.

Vivo V27 possible specs
Considering the CPU, it’s hard to believe this is a mere rebrand. Anyway, we still expect it to pack some of the Vivo S16 specs. The Vivo V-series usually focuses on design and camera, and apparently, that will also be the case with the new phone. The Vivo S16 packs a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution. The phone has a centered punch-hole cutout and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has up to 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of Storage.
In terms of optics, the Vivo V27 may retain the sensors found in its Chinese sibling. The Vivo V27 may get a 64-Megapixel main camera with OIS, an 8-Megapixel ultrawide snapper, and a 2-Megapixel macro shooter. The phone has a powerful 50-Megapixel selfie camera with auto-focus. The phone also has a 4,600 mAh battery with 66W charging, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth.
Worth noting that Vivo has a lot more devices coming to the global markets. The company opened February with style launching the Vivo X90 series. Now, more phones will come for the low and mid-range segments.
