Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra (or Pro Max), according to sources, will feature Samsung’s M13 panel. The specific screen specs that will be evaluated are not yet known. The iPhone 14 Pro Max previously had a total of 15 options from the screen review company DisplayMate. This indicates that it has the best screen in the mobile phone sector.
Apple has improved its screen specs over the past few years, so the best materials will always be utilized on the iPhone. The Samsung Galaxy S22 and S23 series currently use M11 panels. Thus, the iPhone 15 Pro series and the Samsung Galaxy S23 series use two generations of distinct screen panel tech.
The prices of the two high-end iPhones will increase this year. Apple will have to spend more to buy Samsung’s M13 screens. This is one of the reasons why the iPhone 15 series prices will go up.
iPhone 15 series will use the Smart Island display
Apple is getting ready to add the Smart Island pill-shape punch hole from the iPhone 14 Pro series to all iPhone 15 series models, according to The Elec. The non-Pro version, such as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, will also use this feature. According to the source, Samsung Display has purchased etching equipment for the production of Smart Island display panels worth 24.1 billion won ($19.5 million).
Gizchina News of the week
Earlier this month, Samsung Display bought extra laser etching tools from Philoptics, a supplier, to make holes in its displays. In September of last year, Samsung Display, a manufacturer of OLED panels for Apple, bought more than anticipated components from other vendors like AP System and HB Solution. This is a result of the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s higher-than-expected demand. The Smart Island feature is currently available in the two latest Pro models of the iPhone 14 series. There are two holes: one is for the front camera and the other is for Face ID.
